Julia's Story

One of the founders of our group, Julia Bowlby, has been a student of Astrology for thirty years. Through the years Julia became increasingly aware that, although she could accurately interpret the natal charts of others, she could not do the same for herself. At first she thought this must be because she lacked objectivity. Perhaps she was simply too chicken to interpret her own natal chart without bias?

To test this suspicion of herself she had four other Astrologers - two Western, two Vedic - do her natal horoscope. (Vedic astrology is East Indian). None of the interpretations made any more sense than her own findings. Two of the Astrologers, who know her quite well, asked her if she was quite sure her birth data was correct.

She could tell others things about themselves that they believed that no-one else could possibly know. "How can you tell I had a child at 18 - no-one knows that!" "I've been lying about my age for years - how can you know I gave you the wrong year?" Yet she couldn't tell the simplest things about herself. This produced an interesting identity dilemma. She knew who she was. Her husband knew who she was. But her natal horoscope remained obstinately someone else.

Presented with this enticing puzzle, she and her husband decided to do some sleuthing.

Was she adopted? Her parents adamantly avowed "No!". Maybe she was switched at the hospital? Oh - wait - maybe she was kidnapped! They decided that such melodramatic solutions were not the case.

What they did keep coming back to was the Near Death Experience that she survived at the age of thirteen. It did seem that the earliest years of her life could be related to her suspect horoscope. Later years could not be correlated to it.

However, if it was assumed that her life began when she experienced the NDE, pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place. The near death natal chart was a perfect fit. The idea of a Near Death/New Birth concept was created.

Conclusions revealed that the original birth chart had been replaced by a "new" natal chart created by the moment of her return.
