The Potential

Astrology is a science that details the potentialities of beginnings, or "births". Beginnings can be the the signing of a contract, the launching of a new ship, the moment you say, "I do", in a marriage ceremony, the first step of a journey, or the birth of a baby. A beginning is the precise moment, date, and place that a contract, ideology, ceremony, living creature, or anything else is "born".

When a baby is born, a Natal Horoscope, or chart, is calculated, using the exact time, date and place of birth. The natal chart is a map of the Zodiac as it appeared at the exact moment and place of birth. The Zodiac is a region of space that contains our sun and moon and the planets and asteroids of our solar system. The science of astrology believes that these celestial objects influence who and what we are. The natal chart measures, itemizes, and collates these influences. It is scientifically verifiable that the movement of the moon and the activity of our sun influence Earth and it's creatures. Astrology extends the realm of influence to the other planets and certain asteroids as well.

If you doubt the validity of astrology, consider that Quantum physics believes that our reality is one seamless ocean of energy and that everything is interconnected within the matrix of this energy field. The ancients intuitively knew this. Twenty-five centuries ago the Buddha said that if you step on a flower in the garden the farthest star can feel it. Native Americans believe that existence is one "sacred hoop" and that everything is related. Astrology taps into this energy field.

Imagine lying on your back, at the moment of your birth, and looking straight up at the Zodiac spread across the heavens. The particular arrangment of the Zodiac you are observing is reduced to angles and degrees in the houses and sun signs of your natal chart. It is a record, or blueprint, of the astrological influences that were in effect for you at that exact place on earth at that exact moment in time. The influences of this blueprint remain an integeral part of you for as long as you are alive. The natal chart details an individual's personality, talents, weaknesses, strengths, the way they relate to themselves and others and society. Their chart provides a picture of the sum total of the possibilities they are born with and what their potential is.

When we die, our natal horoscope dies with us.

When we reincarnate we are born with a new natal horoscope.

If we temporarily die and then return to life we are "reborn" with a new natal horoscope.
